Rob started performing in professional rock bands at 16.  His first real experience performing on a regional level was with the "Waterproof Candle" made up of Wayne Wilson and Steve Foster, ("Sounds Unlimited"), Dan Hanley, ("Dan Hanley Band" and "Salt and Pepper"), Ronnie Blackstone ("Ronnie and the Rascals") and Mike Rea ("Blue Light" and "Our Generation").

Rob began traveling on the road with a mock touring band “The Outsiders” in 1969.

The real Outsiders band had a 25 million selling single "Time Won't Let Me" and this took Rob to several states to perform.
